It's with a heavy heart that we unfortunately have decided to close. Because as it stands now, we have become a financially unsustainable business. The closure of the Broadway Bridge only adds to that issue. We have sadly decided to close our doors and are taking steps to evaluate our future. Grover Taylor owner of Sassafras prides himself as a pioneer in modern Boston vegan cuisine. Having previously owned for 10 years (Eat at Jumbos) a very popular gourmet pizza & sandwich shop. He creates fusing classic dishes with innovative ingredients and a cruelty-free ethos. Focusing on vegan reinterpretations of classic world cuisine, using only the finest and freshest ingredients, locally-sourced and organic whenever possible. Sassafras features a small, intimate dining area, as well as featuring a full liquor license. They also have a small seasonal outdoor dining area.. Suggested must have dishes are the Mile High Lasagna and a Mixed Grill Combo- Plant based fRibs, Pulled Jackfruit and BBQ Chick’un. Topped off with huge slice of cake, cinnamon roll or jumbo quarter pound cookie. All Sharable and made in house which are both as comforting as they are delicious.
